My son wishes that there were more class periods so he could take more of the classes that are offered! We are so grateful to be at Covington!

There are many walkable restaurants and bars and my dog loves it. Commute to work is about minutes. It used to be unique with the older homes but as of now they are all being torn down. Great schools. Close to downtown but spots feel removed from the city. But the neighbors are great and look out for each other. I wish I could afford to buy. With no traffic my commute to downtown is about 10min. Naturally, I work during typical business hours which means my commute is about an hour. Traffic is terrible everywhere in this city. Resident 3y ago. Super close to downtown. For the most part, I feel safe and I like the relaxed vibe.

There's lots of stuff to do and great shopping as well. We have great restaurants, fun bars, and cool shops, but we also have great schools unlike some of the trendier neighborhoods. The neighborhood has everything you could possibly need. I have 4 grocery stores, 3 gyms, a Target, and countless restaurants, doctor's offices, and groomers within walking distance. Not to mention some closer-to-home nightlife.

Most restaurants and bars have patios and permit dogs on the premises. They even provide water bowls for you to use. The only negative I can think of was when my apartment complex did DNA testing on all the dogs in the complex.

On the upside, they did it to try to get people to clean up after their pets. Zilker is close, and there are a ton of people with dogs. Seems like there are events going on all the time. It's a big family community, and they watch out for each other.

And we can walk to most places we want to go: my son's preschool, the movie theater, restaurants, the coffee shop. It's easy by street or the freeway.

Bus lines are offered, and lots of people bike to downtown. It takes about 10 minutes to get downtown on a weekday morning work commute coming down Lamar to Barton Springs, and then South 1st Guadalupe into downtown. There you'll find Ladybird lake, the renown hike and bike trail, 6th Street, and all the rest of wonderful downtown Austin. Just take Lamar to downtown, Hwy 71 to the hill country Fredericksburg Gender Identity.
